This error may occur after an update if you have previously installed an earlier version of Geneious on Windows and due to permissions settings, the latest version was unable to overwrite components of our licensing system.
You should uninstall Geneious and also delete the following folder
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Macrovision Shared
Then download the appropriate Geneious installer from https://www.geneious.com and reinstall Geneious. Activate with your license details when requested.
