Some windows users may face a connection issue when trying to activate Geneious Prime through their email sign on.
If you are also not able to download plugins or search external databases (e.g. NCBI), first follow the guidance on "Connecting to the Internet from Geneious Prime".
If activation is still unsuccessful, check whether the server's path has been added to your systems host file. Here's how:
1. Using File Explorer, navigate to your "hosts" file at C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and open in any text editor to make changes.
You may need to move this file to another location to edit, then replace it using administrator privileges.
2. Look for any lines that contain isul.geneious.com or isulapi.geneious.com and remove them, for example:
3. Save the hosts file and place it into your etc directory (if it was moved), then retry activation.
