There is a known issue for some of our users on Windows when they update Geneious Prime starting from a pre-2023 version. During the installation process, a dialog may appear that says:
“An error occurred uninstalling Geneious Prime. Please uninstall the previous version, then download a new version from Geneious.com. Instructions: https://help.geneious.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044629092”
To work around this issue please follow these steps:
- Uninstall the previous version of Geneious Prime. Instructions here.
- Download your desired version from our download page.
- Install the new version using the downloaded installer.
