Geneious Prime subscription plans have fair use limits in place on re-assigning seats and device activations.
Please note that we do not allow floating seats on an ongoing basis. All seats must be assigned to a named-user or specified machine for the duration of the license term, with exceptions for:
- Seat re-assignment in the case users depart your organization
- Device de-activations and re-activations in the case users need to replace their computers
- Occasional seat re-assignment due to project or team changes¹
Our fair use limits are designed to support these situations. Once your license reaches the fair use limits, you will need to wait a period of time to resume these actions.
Please submit a support request if you require further assistance.
¹ We recognize that research teams are dynamic: scientists move between projects, team compositions change, and workflows evolve. This exception is intended to support occasional reallocation as your team's needs change, not as a substitute for floating or concurrent-use licensing. Seats should still have a consistent, named user for the majority of the license term.
