Is Geneious Prime compatible with Apple M1 chips?

The latest version of Geneious Prime is fully supported on Apple M1 macs.  However, Geneious Prime is not optimized for the M1 architecture so performance gains from the new chips may be limited.  Geneious Prime requires x86 Java (which it is bundled with) and cannot run with the native ARM64 Java.

Further information on running Geneious Prime on the MacOS Big Sur operating system is available at this link.

any plans to optimize Geneious for the M1 architecture? It seems apple notebook and PC systems will all be converted to M1 in the near future and it would be great to see Geneious Prime take advantage of the increased computation power (I am hoping I can replace my current Workstation with an M1 macbook pro in the near future)

I would also like to know if there are any plans to optimize Geneious for Apple Silicon.
