A small number of users on Windows have recently been experiencing extreme slowness when using Geneious Prime. We are continuing to narrow down the cause and will update this article as needed.
At this time it appears that the cause is related to storing your Geneious data within an automatically translated folder e.g. Users / Utilisateurs on French systems. The problem does not seem limited to the version of Geneious Prime being used.
As a workaround we suggest moving your Geneious Prime data storage location to a folder outside of this (for example to C:\ drive) to resolve the issue. Please refer to How do I change where my Geneious Prime database is stored?
If you are experiencing extreme slowness and changing the data location does not fix the problem, please contact our support team for more assistance.
