Some users are reporting failed updates with the latest Geneious Prime 2026.1.1 with symptoms such as failure to load previous documents or failure of plugins (e.g. NCBI Blast, EMBOSS).

To fix the installation, completely uninstall using Add/Remove Programs or Uninstall.exe within the installation folder -> Manually clear anything remaining in C:\Program Files\Geneious Prime -> reinstall from the latest installer here: https://www.geneious.com/updates
